Windy City Cop Shop Policies

Legal status of products:
It is the responsibility of the buyer, NOT THE SELLER, to ascertain, and obey, all applicable local, state, federal and international laws in regard to the possession and use of any item on this site. All equipment is sold subject to public law 90-351, title III, U.S.D., Section 2511, and any local, state or federal ordinances. Consult your local and state laws before ordering, if you are in doubt. Absolutely no sales to minors! By placing an order, the buyer represents that the products ordered will be used in a lawful manner, and that he/she is of legal age. Windy City Cop Shop, Inc. will not be held liable for the misuse of any product in this site. Sec. 716.

Police badges

(a) Whoever--
(1) knowingly transfers, transports, or receives, in interstate or foreign commerce, a counterfeit police badge;
(2) knowingly transfers, in interstate or foreign commerce, a genuine police badge to an individual, knowing that such individual is not authorized to possess it under the law of the place in which the badge is the official badge of the police;
(3) knowingly receives a genuine police badge in a transfer prohibited by paragraph (2); or
(4) being a person not authorized to possess a genuine police badge under the law of the place in which the badge is the official badge of the police, knowingly transports that badge in interstate or foreign commerce; shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.

(b) It is a defense to a prosecution under this section that the badge is used or is intended to be used exclusively--
(1) as a memento, or in a collection or exhibit;
(2) for decorative purposes;
(3) for a dramatic presentation, such as a theatrical, film, or television production; or
(4) for any other recreational purpose.

(c) As used in this section--
(1) the term 'genuine police badge' means an official badge issued by public authority to identify an individual as a law enforcement officer having police powers; and
(2) the term 'counterfeit police badge' means an item that so resembles a police badge that it would deceive an ordinary individual into believing it was a genuine police badge

Tax Applies to Illinois State Residents

Returns may be subject to a 20% Restocking Fee. You may return most items sold by Windy City Cop Shop within 30 days of delivery. We will pay the return shipping cost and wave the restocking fee if the return is a result of our error. If the product you ordered is damaged, defective or the wrong item, send an email to support@windycitycopshop.com to notify us of your problem. We will respond to your issue within 2 business days.

We cannot accept returns of certain items, including:
Clearly damaged items that happened after the item was delivered.

Return Policy

All returned merchandise must be sent within 7 days of receipt.

Broken/Damaged Items

All original packing materials must be kept even if there is no apparent damage to the shipping carton. Limited editions or retired figurines will be replaced if possible. If no replacement is available, a credit or refund will be issued.

No Replacement or Credit Will Be Given Under The Following Conditions:

• The request is made after 7 days from the receipt date.
• The item is returned without an outer carton.
• The item is returned without the original box and all paperwork.
